About the book

Precision agriculture is an agricultural management approach that uses technology and data to optimize crop production and reduce waste. The goal of precision agriculture is to increase efficiency and profitability while reducing the environmental impact on agriculture. Precision agriculture relies on various technologies, such as sensors, GPS mapping, drones, and machine learning, to collect and analyze data on soil moisture, nutrient levels, crop growth, and other variables. Precision agriculture allows farmers to tailor their management practices to the specific needs of each field or even individual plants.

 

Precision agriculture can also help farmers to detect and manage crop diseases and pests more effectively, using sensors and data analytics to identify and respond to issues before they become widespread. However, the adoption of precision agriculture has been slower in some areas due to factors such as cost, lack of infrastructure, and limited access to data and technology. As such, there is a need for continued research, investment, and education to support the growth of precision agriculture and enable farmers to benefit from its full potential.

 

With the advancement of research and development in precision agriculture, there is a need to compile all the information in one place so that every scholar and researcher can have a substantial understanding of all the aspects of precision agriculture and contribute towards the development of smart agriculture.
